Ad platforms such as Google Ads, Facebook Ads, LinkedIn Ads have a limitation where the connection created from Rev.Up expires after a certain duration. Typically there are two main reasons why a connection expires, if your login credentials change after you have created a connection or if you have not used it for few months after you have created it (see the details below).
- Facebook : Connection expires if it is not used for 60 consecutive days. See here for more details.
- Google Ads : Connection expires if it is not used for 90 consecutive days. See here for more details.
- LinkedIn : Connection expires after 1 year of creating it. Please not that Rev.Up platform will automatically refresh your connection every 60 days but after 1 year the automated refreshes LinkedIn will stop the automated refreshes. See here for more details.
A connection that has disconnected looks like below:
System name: describes the user entered name to uniquely identify the connection
System Id: Ad Account ID or customer's seat in the ad platform.
You will have to refresh the connector by providing user name and password to your ad account so that connector gets back to connected state and becomes available for launching campaigns.
If you have access to the same user name and password, that was used to create a connection previously follow the steps below:
- Select the connection you want to update, and select create. In this example we will update LinkedIn:
- Next, mouse over and click the pencil icon for the name of the connection you want to update:
- Then, select save:
- Then you'll be prompted with a popup to input your credentials in the target platform (LinkedIn, for this example). Input your credentials and sign in.
- You will receive a success message in the bottom of the first menu you opened (where you clicked the pencil icon). Click on Finish button.
If you do NOT have access to the user name and password that was used to create a connection previously following the steps below:
This situation is common when team members leave and you may no longer have access to the same user login information that was used to create a connection.
- Select the connection you want to update, and select create. In this example we will update LinkedIn:
- Click on the arrow in the drop-down and click on "add new account"
- Enter the name of the connection and click on Create button
- You will see an pop-up appear on top to enter the LinkedIn user name and password. Make sure the new login you are using has the access to the Ad account used the connection that you want to refresh.
- Select the Ad account that you want to refresh the connector, in the drop-down as shown below and click Finish.
Once a connector has been successfully refreshed, it will look as below:
Follow the same steps for Google Ads and Facebook Ads connectors.
