Overview
Lattice allows you to import data directly from the UI, which makes sense when adding ad-hoc data such as attendee list from an event. However, setting up automation is the preferred option to sync data directly from your system (e.g Salesforce, Eloqua etc) to Lattice.
Automation ensures that all changes from your source system are always available in Lattice. But, some business reason will require pausing automation briefly. These could include
- Setting up integration with a new system require back and forth between various stakeholders.
- Major changes on your source system could leave data in a bad shape and it would make sense for these changes to be complete before resuming automation
Creating a template (field mapping) in Lattice allows you to import data directly from the UI, but at this automation is paused. When the system is paused for automation, you will see the "play" icon next to your field mapping. In the example below, the account data is paused and is not automatically importing data
When the system is paused from actively importing data in to Lattice, lattice will still accept new data, but wont process and import this data. New data can continue to be sent to the drop location uninterrupted.
Activate Automation
Click on "play" button to activate Automation. The system prompts that automation is being activate and once confirmed (select Activate), the system is now active for automation.
Pause Automation
Click on "pause" button to pause Automation. The system prompts that automation is being paused and once confirmed (select Pause), the system is now paused and no new data will be imported.
