In this step, you’ll configure Eloqua to receive scoring data from the Lattice Predictive Insights platform.
Prerequisite
You’ll need admin permissions in your Eloqua instance for these steps. If your Eloqua administrator will perform these steps for you, just send them a link to this page.
Create Custom Fields
Keep in mind that custom fields created in Eloqua will ONLY be visible in Eloqua. Any of these fields that your sales team will want to see and use should be created in your CRM and then added to Eloqua’s external calls.
Most Lattice customers create all their fields in Eloqua except for the rating field. This is the process shown in the steps below, but feel free to include more fields in your CRM if you want to.
1. Click Settings and then in the Database Settings section, click Fields & Views.
2. On the Fields & Views page, extend the Contact Fields drop-down and ensure the field being added does not already exist.
3. Click the “ + ” icon at the bottom of the list, then Add Contact Field.
4. In the General section, complete the fields for the new contact field.
-
Display Name: Lattice Score
-
Data Type: Numeric
-
Field Type: Textbox
-
Default Update Logic: Always update
5. Click Save.
6. Repeat the field creation process to create a field for a timestamp using the following values:
-
Type: Date/Time
-
Name: Lattice Timestamp2
-
Field Type: Textbox
-
Default Update Logic: Always update
7. Ask your CRM administrator to create the following field in your CRM to display to the sales team:
-
Type: Text/String
-
Name: Rating
-
API Name: [depends on your CRM convention]
-
Objects: Lead and Contact (ensure fields are mapped)
8. Follow Eloqua’s documentation on CRM Integration for instructions on syncing the CRM field to Eloqua.
9. If you would like Lattice to provide data enrichment, use the above steps to create custom fields for each attribute with which you want to enrich contacts. (e.g. Microsoft Office, Google Analytics, etc)
Create an API User
It is best practice to create a unique API user for every REST integration in your instance. In the following steps, you will be creating a new user and service for your Lattice scoring integration.
1. Click Settings
2. Click Users in the Users and Security area.
3. Click Users, then click Add New User. Alternatively, click New User in the right panel.

4. Enter the basic user information in the Login Info section.
As a best practice, provide the User Name before providing any other field information, and ensure that all new user names are unique to each user.
If you enter the First Name and Last Name before you enter the User Name, the User Name fieldwill then auto-populate to <firstname.lastname>. Therefore, if you have more than one Oracle Eloqua user with the same first and last name, you will need to provide the unique user name first, and then provide the first and last name after. This will avoid auto-populating the User Name field with the same username as another existing user.
-
