Context
This guide outlines the process for connecting & reconnecting Lattice Buyer Insights applications to the CDP. It is primarily intended for the business operations team responsible for managing the application.
You can connect multiple Salesforce.com instances to your Lattice tenant, enabling you to test Buyer Insights application in a sandbox instance before deploying it in the production instance.
Prerequisite
To complete the steps in this guide, please ensure the following:
- You have access to the CDP as an "Admin".
- You have access to the Buyer Insights application in your Salesforce instance.
- Your profile has "Lattice Administrator" permissions set.
Step 1: Generate an authentication token from the CDP platform
Login to the Lattice platform and go "Connections" page. Then, select Salesforce and click on Create. This will open up a pop-up with an option to "Email token."
In a couple of minutes, you will receive an email with the authentication token.
The authentication token is valid 24 hours and can be used only once. If the token expired or if you need to use it again, you will have to generate a new token.
Step 2: Connect (or reconnect) the application
If you are connecting the application for the first time after the installation, you will be presented with the screen below when you go the Admin tab in the Buyer Insights application.
If you are reconnecting the application or connecting the application after installing the test data, you will need to click on "Authenticate & Data" tab in the "Admin" UI, click on "connect" and then you will see the screen above.
Please copy & paste the "Customer ID" and "Token" you received in the email above.
Then, select the platform version V2 to connect the application to the CDP.
And now click on "connect"
You will see "You are authenticated" message once the application is successfully connected to the CDP.
Step 3: Add yourself to connection expiration notice
Security policy requires that all applications reconnect with the platform every 120 days. We highly recommend you add your email address to connection expiration notice sent 30 days prior so that you can proactively reconnect the application and avoid any operational disruption.
To do so, please go to the "Advanced Setting" page in "Admin" tab and add yourself to the notification list.
If you are in the middle of first-time application configuration workflow, we highly recommend you complete it first and then do this step.
Step 4: Select the right account ID to be used for this Salesfoce.com instance
Lattice platform also allows you to import multiple account IDs for the same account and use the right ID when launching Plays salesforce.com. This step lets you configure the account ID to use when lunching plays into Salesforce instances.
Login to the CDP and go "APPLICATION SETTINGS" page. You will your Salesforce.com instance org ID and name listed on this page.
Select the right account ID for this system and click "save."
If you do not know the right account ID or do not the right ID, please contact your administrator responsible for importing accounts in the CDP.
